She recently earned a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from IUAV University of Venice, graduating with top marks (110/110) in 2022.
Danae’s professional experience spans the film, photography, and visual arts industries. She has contributed to event organization and communication, created critical and promotional materials, and worked on graphic design, photography, and video production.
Her work explores themes of time, the photographic medium, and their interconnection. Each image serves as an invitation to reflect and connect with both personal and collective experiences.
She primarily works with analog photography, using 35mm film and Polaroids. However, she does not impose technical limitations on herself, allowing the nature of each project to guide her choice of medium.
Danae’s artistic practice is deeply influenced by the poetics of Andrei Tarkovsky and Duane Michals. She holds a profound admiration for Agnès Varda and Nan Goldin, whose works resonate with her sensibility. Raised on the photography of Henri Cartier-Bresson, she has developed a humor reminiscent of Martin Parr, softened by the melancholic tone of Luigi Ghirri. These masters have shaped her vision, teaching her to approach the world with curiosity and to find poetry in life’s small, everyday moments.
